I manage an environment across hundreds of physical locations and different IP subnets. Most of the locations are relatively small having maybe three to fifty endpoints with some larger locations having 50-5000 endpoints. Each location has at least one class C subnet, but most have more than one.
Presently, we manage our GUP policies independently for each continent globally. We are working to consolidate our global Live Update policies so that machines that travel internationally between regions can utilize GUPs locally instead of traversing WAN links back to their home location to obtain updates. I've been asked to confirm whether or not there is a limit to the number of GUPs and/or Explict GUP Providers that can be configured in a 12.1.5 Live Update policy before there is a performance hit and/or limit reached. The total environment is only about 30,000 clients, but it is spread out over a thousand or more locations on mulitple SEP sites with a single SEP domain. I anticpate a thousand or more GUPs, with potential for two thousand or more IP Subnets to cover.
