Need help diagnosing ESM entry in esmmodd.err file

I need a solution

Hi,

I am totally new to the forum, so first of all......hello everyone :)

I have been installing the ESM agent on numerous Solaris devices and all have been fine apart from two of them. Although it appears that they can communicate ok with the manager, neither device has any alerts being reported back to the ESM console.  I have scoured the web for info on this error but can find absolutely nothing. Not even the slightest hint, so am hoping someone here may be able to shed some light on it for me.

The error is a single entry ~(shown below) in the esmmodd.err file:

sh: eeprom: not found

A comparison of running processes on an ESM working and non working device shows the following:

Not Working:

<device>:root$ ps -ef | grep esm
    root 18750  7420   0 14:26:11 pts/2       0:00 grep esm
    root 22515     1   0   Mar 21 ?           0:00 /esm/bin/solaris-sparc/esmd -fv

Working:

<device>:root$ ps -ef | grep esm
    root   653     1   0   Aug 07 ?           0:01 /esm/bin/solaris-sparc/esmd -fv
    root 16851   653   0   Mar 01 ?           0:06 esmmodd -fv -i < ip address > -c 524800 -h bhxesm01
    root 17424   653   0   Mar 02 ?           0:06 esmmodd -fv -i < ip address > -c 524800 -h bhxesm01

Any assistance/advice/clarification of this issue would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance :)
